My friend and I have stayed in several different properties over the past few years and, by far, the Stone Cottage is the cleanest and nicest place we’ve stayed. Everything literally sparkled while at the same it was so comfy it felt like home. The special touches and attention to detail were delightful and literally delicious. There were a couple incredible pastries, Blue Heron coffee, and a great selection of spices waiting there for us. The vases of fresh flowers, the artwork, scout & camping memorabilia, Fiestaware, mission furniture & lighting were just so fun & full of whimsy. Great modern bathroom as well. The view is incredible and in full display from the front windows of the cottage (we lost count of the eagles we saw). There’s a tree swing in the front yard and we had lunch one day on the patio despite the chill in the air. I imagine the rose garden in the summer is splendid. Check in and out were a breeze. The owner met us to give us some insights for our stay which we found very helpful. They also live up on the hill behind – so close enough if we needed something while still keeping the cottage private. Other than taking several walks around the island, we never left during out stay and there was some debate whether we’d ever leave. We hope we can stay here again and again. TIP: If you don’t want to minimize travel during your stay, bring enough food to make that work the way you want. Stores are a few miles away so we were glad we were over-prepared in that department.
